If you work at a company that allows hour lunches, devote half of your time to taking a walk around your building. If you can’t get out during your break designate time during the weekend to get active as part of your overall exercise plan.</p>
<p>2: Add it up</p>
<p>If you can get 10 minutes in the morning, 10 in the afternoon, and 10 at night, you’ve still stretched your muscles and built up some endurance. Plus you’ve incrementally divided your activity so that you get little bursts of energy throughout the day.</p>

<p>Do eat smaller portions…</p>
<p>A huge part of the problem is that Americans have lost sight of the proper portion. Going out to eat constantly gives us a skewed perspective of how much we’re actually eating. Restaurants serve our food on platters, often with three times the amount of a regular portion. Instead of choosing from the below menu, choose a small plate and then ask for a box. Eat half of the portion and take the other half home. When giving large portions, people are likely to eat 45% more food.</p>
